I wish I was that good! No, I always sketch first. Lately I have been using a sepia or black colored pencil, graphite tends to smudge too much. Then I just use a field watercolor set with waterbrushes and fill in color. Thanks a bunch for looking at my sketches - I appreciate yor comments alot.
Downtown Charleston, Rutledge Avenue - Parked at Colonial Lake and sketched for a few minutes - got a few curious looks from lunch walkers.
